Colchicum Dispersion


In 1 tablet of colchicum seed extract 15.6 mg (corresponding to 500 mcg colchicine) Lactose monohydrate, MCC, corn starch, copovidone, palmitic acid, shellac, magnesium stearate, gum arabic, povidone, magnesium oxide, macrogol, sucrose, titanium oxide, talc, sodium carmellose, amaranth (E123), white wax and carnauba sulfide, sodium carnauba, sodium as excipients.

Alkaloidisolated from colchicum has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Affects uric acid metabolism. The tablets are swallowed whole with a large amount of liquid.

Acute attack gout - take 2 tablets (1 mg), followed by 1-3 tablets every 2 hours until pain is relieved. Daily dose no more than 16 tablets. In order to prevent attacks, several months (usually 3 months) are taken in parallel with uricosuric preparations 1-3 tablets once a day or every other day.

Treatment is carried out under hematological control. When side effects occur (usually from Gastrointestinal tract) the dose is reduced or canceled. With a decrease in level white blood cells and platelet count treatment is stopped until normalization.


Chronic intoxication is observed after taking 10 mg or more for several days. Acute intoxication after taking 20 mg. Affects organs with a high proliferation rate.

Intoxication is manifested by burning in the throat, urge to vomit, nausea, thirst, urge to urinate, tenesmus and colic, which appear 2-6 hours after taking a toxic dose.

Hemorrhagic diarrhea causes loss of fluid and electrolytes, hypokalemia, hyponatremia and acidosis. Complaints of tightness and pain in the heart appear. Pallor is noted cyanosis and dyspnea, tachycardia and hypotension and possible collapse.
